Strategic Scenario Thinking

Strategic Scenario Thinking delivers specific strategic scenario descriptions based on critical trends and uncertainties and therefor increases the adaptive capabilities of the organization.

Methodology

Strategy – the intentional choice of where, how and when to compete. The innovation strategy is based on an assessment of the external and internal corporate environment. It contains the desirable future state the company aspires to be.

Solutions

  1. Trend analysis – Assessment of trends with different aggregation levels; macro, consumer, industry,  technology, and their relevance for the current business. Based on likelihood, timing and impact the trends are categorized by innovation focus areas.
  2. Strategic scenarios – Combining business critical trends and uncertainties results in multiple two-by-two matrices. Description of the quadrants provides insight in the company’s key future opportunities and threats.
